WEEK 9 – WOW!

WEEK 9 AT HOME

GRAMMAR:

Listen to The Tale of Mr. Morton(again)   – Schoolhouse Rock –  Wk. 1 – Subject/Predicate (simple predicate)

-Work on copying and mastering Principal Parts of Verbs Chart D Pg.  and Principal Parts of Verbs:  Irregular Verbs  – Chart D.  Oral work on the charts is great too!  Do what’s best for your child.

Copy Verb Anatomy: To Be (Chart K) –   The best scenario for the new chart is to copy it once a day – going for memorization more than complete comprehension at this point.  You may work on one area at a time – such as simple tense first and then move on to progressive tense, etc.

Review previous charts with oral or written drill, especially Verbs – Chart C.

-Have a dialectic discussion each day with the assigned sentences and analytical tasks.

-Go over new capitalization and punctuation rules before working on editing.  Also a good idea to go over previous rules as time allows.

MATH:

We’re having our Math Carnival again!  This time both classes will be participating – Yay!  It will be held in three weeks – on our last day of the first half – November 16th!

-Following are a few ides, but better than that is if you come up with your own unique idea! You may utilize any type of math function.

-Please e-mail me as soon as you know what you’d like to do, so that we don’t have duplicates or have everyone doing the same type of math facts, etc.

-On math carnival day – everyone will bring in their game and we will play each game.  If you can provide very inexpensive trinkets or a piece of candy, gum, etc. for prizes – that would be a plus.
